Today I tried doing a zentangle design.I have been reading about it at many blogs and wanted to try drawing it.It does help you become calm as you focus on drawing the design.

111-Poppy digital painting

Today ,I did a poppy digital painting.I painted seeing a reference photograph from wetcanvas forum as a guidance.

I had a great time doing this colorful abstract acrylic painting on paper.It was fun doing free form painting and then scribbling with the back of the brush on the wet paint .

109-Abstract ink blot sketch

Leah's post yesterday brought back old memories(college days) of playing with ink blots and I enjoyed doing today's art. I dropped green and brown ink on a sheet of paper and blew over them to create abstract shapes,then filled the place around with doodles .
I did the sketch on a white sheet but the digital photo is a cream shade.

Pink orchid painting done in twisted brush program.Painting with the digital brushes also gave me a similar feeling(calm,relaxing and wonderful) to working in the traditional style on canvas.

It is 11.30 pm and I'm winding down with a painting.

This is a quick Floral Digital art I did last night.I painted the florals in twisted brush.It was a relaxing exercise to paint in a loose style.

I did this watercolor painting of the old barn,today for a challenge at wet canvas..I am picking up my brushes after a long time and I hope to improve my painting skills by participating in WDEs at the wet canvas forum.I realized while doing this painting how you lose the easy strokes in painting when you have a break in doing art on paper.

Blogging and our new digital camera are 2 reasons for me to take up my brush again.

Blogging helps to share my works and the feedback is encouraging.

It is great that I am able to take photos of my works and upload them immediately.

096- 3 flowers in acrylics

This is an acrylic painting I did today on canvas paper 4" x 8".I am painting with acrylics after a very long time and I am sure my work shows it! I felt very happy after doing the painting and hope to start painting on canvas more often.

I love to draw patterns with pen on paper and these are a few of them.

Drawing freehand on paper relaxes you and increases your creativity.

The designs become the base for larger patterns or spark the process for other patterns.

The red tree is an Acrylic painting done on canvas board-11" x 14".

I did this painting in a quick impressionist style to demonstrate acrylic painting to a friend.

I have just got my new digital camera and am excited to upload my paintings on the net.Till now I could only share my digital works.Now I can share my works done in different mediums.

I have done the paintings both in corel and photoshop. I learnt to create the frame effect from a tutorial online.
